Cheers and Beers: Laidback Venues in La Plagne

Cheers and Beers: Laidback Venues in La Plagne

Many people believe that après ski is all about thumping music, dancing on tables and staying up all night. Whilst this certainly is possible and great fun on occasion, it is not for everyone.
Fortunately, places like La Plagne have great diversity and suitable establishments for every taste. If your tabletop dancing days are behind you but you still enjoy a few beers and a laugh, La Plagne has plenty of more relaxed, pub-style venues to choose from.

These boozers are great places for having a few beers, chilling with your mates and ex-changing your stories from the day with fellow skiers. You can then leave at a reasonable hour and retire to your catered chalet. La Plagne has many great drinking establishments, but read on to find out which ones you simply cannot miss!

Bar La Mine – Brilliantly located in the heart of the action at Plagne 1800, English pub Bar la Mine has DJs and live music, TVs showing live sport and a mining theme. It also has an enormous selection of beers, ciders and wines. It is a popular après spot, so there is always a lively and friendly atmosphere, but there is also plenty of space to sit down and talk or watch the game. The venue is right next to the slopes, making it the perfect place to meet after a long day on the slopes.

Igloo Igloo – This is a funky bar that’s designed like an igloo, and is found inside Plagne Centre’s Galérie du Pelvoux. Step inside and you will be blown away by the neon colours and icy decor, featuring half life-sized polar bears and penguins. Igloo Igloo is a premier spot for DJs and live bands, but you can also sit down on the faux-ice white seats and sip on a homemade cocktail. There are even complimentary nibbles if you get there early, and many patrons comment on the friendliness of the staff.

Le Luna Bar – If you’re looking for a cool rustic-style pub with dim lights, lots of seating and a chilled out atmosphere with occasional live music, Le Luna Bar is the right place for you. It offers a refreshing change of pace from the clubs, which can be hard to have a conversation in. I really like this bar because it has fun pub games on hand, such as table football, darts and pool. Beers, whiskies, cocktails, wines and non-alcoholic drinks are all on the menu, and it is a great spot for a relaxed drink after shredding powder. You can find Le Luna Bar in the Plagne Centre, and is likely to be just a stone’s throw away from your catered chalet. La Plagne regulars often cite this as the best establishment for a relaxed pub in the area.

Bar le 5 a 7 Siete – Bar le 5 a 7 Siete is located in La Plagne Soleil/Village, and is my number one choice for a drink in the area. This cosy wine bar is ideal after a freezing day on the slopes, as you can get comfortable in front of the roaring log fire, sip on your favourite wine and catch up with friends. Alternatively, order tapas and enjoy them out on the brilliant sun terrace, from where you can enjoy lovely views of the surrounding area.

These are just a few of the great drinking establishments, but there are many others to choose from. The best part is that you never have to venture far from your catered cha-let! La Plagne attracts groups of young friends looking for fun yet casual nights out, and it is easy to see why

Get Ready to Rock the Mountain: Musilac 2018

Get Ready to Rock the Mountain: Musilac 2018

If you’re planning a ski holiday to Chamonix with a group of mates and can’t decide when to go, my advice would be to wait until April 2018. That way, you can participate in Musilac Mont-Blanc 2018, the ultimate party on the mountain! This new spring festival is expected to become one of the biggest annual music events in Chamonix.
What to Expect

Musilac is already famous in Aix-les-Bains, where it is a popular summer festival. Past headliners have included everyone from Elton John and Sting to The Chemical Brothers and David Guetta. For Chamonix, festival organisers promise an equally stellar line up: so far, 15 acts are scheduled to play from April 19 to 21.

The Festival will be a massive affair: it’s estimated that up to 30,000 spectators will attend the three-day event. An open-air stage will be set up at the Bois du Bouchet paragliding landing area, which will play host to audiences of around 15,000 each night.

To ensure that this is one of the major events in Chamonix’s 2018 calendar, Musilac organisers have partnered with MontBlanc Médias, a renowned French media group that specialises in extreme sports.

Ski the End of the Season or Just Hang Out

Whether you’re a keen skier and want to take advantage of Chamonix’s cheap ‘end of season’ deals or you just love the party atmosphere of a festival, April in Chamonix is perfect for you.

Set at the foot of Mont Blanc, the resort’s skiing opportunities are guaranteed throughout the spring, during which there’s a fantastic range of glacial skiing that really comes into its own from April onwards.

There are a range of nursery runs for beginners, – although the snow cover this late in the season can be risky – and for intermediate and advanced skiers, Chamonix’s challenging runs provide the ultimate high-thrill playground.

In town, you’ll discover that Chamonix is a bustling place with a cool, hip crowd that populates the resort all year round. There are some great bars and clubs, and the pretty centre is equipped with many nice café terraces.

If you’re looking for a group holiday during which you don’t want to hit the pistes every day, combining a ski holiday with one of the best events in Chamonix ensures that you’ll have a blast!

How to Get There

Taking part in the many events in Chamonix couldn’t be easier, as there are regular flights from the UK to Geneva, Chambery, Grenoble and Lyon airports during the ski season.

For a good-value transfer option, book a group transfer with Shuttle Direct before you leave home. Choose either a private or a more economical shared group transfer, and our drivers will pick you up from the airport and deliver you straight to your resort. It doesn’t get easier than that!

Crazy Family Fun in Chamonix

Crazy Family Fun in Chamonix

Chamonix is known as one of the best skiing areas in the world – and rightly so! It has a wide-ranging array of pistes that the whole family can enjoy together. From nursery slopes for your little ones to advanced, adrenaline-fuelled pistes for adults and teenagers, Chamonix has something special for everyone.
In addition to skiing, there are many other fun-filled and family-friendly activities that’ll make your ski holiday an exciting adventure that the kids will never forget.

Dog Sledding

Are your kids big fans of puppers and woofers? Then you’ll definitely see their eyes light up when you take them dog sledding.

Bred from wolf and domestic dog (usually husky) crosses, these friendly animals love to pull sleds, and they’re so elegant that it makes for a really smooth ride. What’s more, these animals are super affectionate, and you’ll probably find you want one as a pet if you treat the family to a dog sledding experience! This activity is increasingly popular, so make sure to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Paragliding

How does soaring through the snowy peaks of the Alps sound?

Thanks to its glaciers, rugged peaks and eagles, Chamonix is known as the Mecca of mountain flying. Even beginners can enjoy a huge adrenaline rush and amazing flights with very high levels of safety, as the gear is really advanced. If you don’t want to take lessons, tandem flying is also is an option – you’ll take to the skies with an experienced pilot, who will introduce you to the sights that this stunning region has to offer.

Snowshoeing

This is a wonderful way for the whole family to experience the region’s alpine beauty. Snowshoeing takes you away from the over-crowded slopes to the snowy mountains, where you can see deer, foxes and hares in their natural habitat. Why not venture onto glacial terrain for something a little more exciting? Or how about leaving the kids with a child minder and enjoying a moonlit snowshoeing adventure?

Ice Skating

The Richard Bozon Sports Centre boasts an Olympic-sized indoor ice rink, as well as a smaller outdoor rink that’s only a short walk away from the town centre. Give this fun winter sport a whirl, or pop by for the local teams’ ice hockey matches, cheering them on as they play a home game.

How to Get There

Many budget airlines offer several flights every day from the UK to Geneva, with a flight time of only 90 minutes from London. Getting to Chamonix from Geneva couldn’t be easier – simply book a transfer with Shuttle Direct for a quick and easy journey to your accommodation in Chamonix. From Geneva, the transfer only takes about an hour, so you’ll be out on the slopes with the family in no time!

Introducing Young Minds to Intriguing India

Introducing Young Minds to Intriguing India

Planning a school trip brings with it more than administrative and organizational responsibilities. The challenge is on the shoulders of educators to choose goals that can engage young hearts and minds in such a way that deep and active learning can be achieved based on their immersion in culture. India is such a place – the school trip to this vibrant center of color and culture can transform life and life that is reinforcing for young minds.
Interesting Indians Introducing Young Minds to Intriguing India

School trips to India are enormous and, depending on the curriculum, can accommodate a myriad of religious sites, community projects, and aspects of local tradition and culture. The most successful trip will incorporate all of this to give a good view to all students in the country, but also some breathing spaces in places that quite often surprise their cultural system. Exploring the Unknown

For a school trip with a focus on economic and socio-political studies, experiencing striking community differences in India can give young learners valuable insights. While observing the pollution and marked trash that accompany daily life may be encountered at times, it provides an excellent opportunity for them to reflect on the need for environmental awareness.

On a different level, a visit to a community project like Father Ravi Shelter, working with homeless children in Delhi, can offer a deeper understanding of the problematic socioeconomic problems of the city and how this dedicated group works to combat them. Introducing Young Minds to Intriguing India

Religious place

A fusion of religious beliefs exist side by side in India, with relics and contemporary ornaments of Sikhism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism on a constant display. Students will have the opportunity to visit significant places of worship and witness firsthand how, even amidst diversity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence so vast can and will last forever.

In the holy city of Rishikesh they can join in an important Hindu ritual called Gangga Aarti, which involves fire victims – in this case a small floating candle called diya – sent down the Ganges River, accompanied by prayer and song worship. While in Delhi they can follow the community food program at the beautiful Sikh temple, Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, where volunteers prepare food and visitors of all races and religions are welcome to participate.

Finding Local Culture

The Indian identity is defined by deep cultural intonation. For young people, exploring cities and rural areas allows them to see how ancient traditions and contemporary innovations are closely intertwined.

A visit to the village of rural crafts offers another dimension to the tour, and Dilli Haat is a fascinating portrayal of tradition in action. This bazaar is a compilation of 62 kiosks, whose products are displayed in accordance with the birth status of the owner for 15 days. With a row of beautiful items, ranging from carvings of sandalwood to silk, this is an interesting cross section of the creative industry. Aravali Eco Village offers an immersive experience of a different kind, where visitors stay and get a chance to interact in local dances, crafts, and ceremonies.

Exploring a society very different from them in every way will bring young people beyond their comfort zone and provide a completely new facet with their worldview.

Understanding Aviation Maintenance Repair and Overhaul

Understanding Aviation Maintenance Repair and Overhaul

The aviation industry is growing at a substantial rate, which certainly is good news for stakeholders, from passengers and airport sponsors to institutional investors and aviation service providers. Of course, the industry runs on services in many different segments, and one of the major services provided is MRO, or Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul. In this post, we will describe the kind of work that these service providers offer with regards to aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul management, and why this sector matters for operational success. The need for MRO services Regardless of the location, facilities and other services offered at an airport, the aviation industry depends on one major aspect – operational aircraft. Aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul management is all about aircraft servicing and management. Commercial airlines and private operators prefer to delegate maintenance tasks to specialized companies offering aviation maintenance. These companies have the necessary operational expertise and experience and also have a great depth of capabilities through their training, tooling and authorizations. These services are critical as projecting and managing maintenance schedules will determine whether aircraft will be operational and available to meet their mission requirements. With today’s increasing demand, MRO service providers are pertinent, necessary, and extremely relevant to keep aircraft and their passengers moving on schedule. What do MRO management services offer? As MRO service providers grow, the need for professional management increases as well. In most cases, maintenance and repair work is dependent upon a number of different requirements and regulations, and the nature of contracts with end users varies considerably. Owners and operators are focused on cost control, quality, and minimizing the downtime of their assets. They also seek to source more services from single source providers, e.g. MOR companies with a breadth of capabilities and authorizations which allows for more services to be provided during a single maintenance event. Demand for aviation MRO services is driven by mandatory maintenance, which occur on fixed flight hour, time-based or activity based intervals. The combination of an aging fleet coupled with increasing utilization underpins the increasing demand forecast for the next 5-10 years. The need for aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul management will continue to increase, and as aircraft utilization continues to grow the need for such services will become more prominent in years to come. Consequently, it is important to choose a company that has the necessary experience and expertise for your particular maintenance requirements to meet your mission profile and keep your aircraft and passengers moving.

There are only a few states that still apply no-fault rules, which means there will be payments even if you are responsible for accidents or property damage. Another strange thing is the fact that insurance companies can cancel your policy for various reasons such as serious traffic violations or crimes, repeat offenses, DUIs, irregularities, and more.
If your insurance company issues a termination or revocation of your policy, you may be a high-risk driver. For such drivers, the possibility of getting other insurance coverage is very low. A good way to get coverage is to buy it from the non-standard insurance market.

Go for Good Auto Insurance

What is a high-risk driver?

There are more than a few ways to determine what high-risk drivers mean. Some insurance companies only use the term to represent certain types of drivers who are not eligible for an insurance policy. However, the requirements for obtaining insurance vary from one company to another. The term can also refer to racers who have a greater chance of experiencing accidents due to physical or psychological limitations such as reduced visibility and lack of experience.

Someone with some traffic tickets may be at high risk too. High risk drivers are those who have a strong tendency to file claims. For a standard market insurance company, more claims mean more payments, and this is not a real business.

While it is difficult to know the exact description of high-risk drivers, there are several common reasons why a person is classified as high risk:

· Having a Traffic Violation: committing a serious traffic violation makes a bad score on your driving record. Violation or involvement in accidents that cause death, or severe injury is a significant factor in high-risk classification. Some insurance companies offer additional coverage to free a single offense for a fee, but some other insurance companies do not have that feature. If there is no way to break the offense, chances are you are now officially at high risk.

· Being a Teen Driver: most people start driving as a teenager. When applying for insurance for the first time, some companies will think of you as a driver with a lack of experience on the road. With insufficient experience, the insurer is reluctant to provide coverage. Go for Good Auto Insurance

· DUI: this is a serious offense in most states. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is harmful to yourself and others. This opens the door for reckless driving, and serious consequences include severe injuries in the event of an accident. A driver with a DUI record is unlikely to get insurance from a standard market.

· Bad credit score: unfair as seen, some insurance companies use credit scores to determine app approval. The bad credit score has a correlation with the possible loss of insurance payments. This is not an ideal customer.

· High-risk cars: Certain car models include sports, antiques, supercars, and expensive collections for repair. They are also a potential target of theft, making it a high risk insurance customer.

Non-standard Insurance Market

If low-risk drivers can buy insurance from a standard market, high-risk companies can get the same from non-standard partners. In many cases, non-standard markets are more expensive, but that does not mean high risk drivers can not get affordable coverage. As a company focused on non-standard markets, Good to Go Auto Insurance still offers a variety of discount options and several options to make your spending more manageable.

There are three types of deductions including Driver Discount, Vehicle Discount, and Policy Discount. Each category includes a variety of offers, allowing more than 40% premium rebates. Good to Go Auto Insurance has three payment options including monthly payments, quarterly payments, and annual payments, along with a 31% discount. Most types of discounts from companies require only simple eligibility requirements for examples that complement defensive driving courses, install safety features in cars, enable text blocking tools, and some other important details. For customers who have a place to live on their land, there is a discount on home ownership.

Another interesting fact about Good to Go Auto Insurance is working with a network of subsidiaries of American Go for Good Auto Insurance

Tree Removal Ways Achieve This Task

Tree Removal Ways Achieve This Task

The typical way to do tree removal involves the use of chainsaws but there are many other different variations to remove trees.

High tree removal

With tall trees, it usually takes a professional tree service to make the move because to reach the top of the tree you need a bucket truck. The vehicle has a hydraulic platform that will lift workers in buckets to access the top of the tree. Using this type of vehicle will help keep workers and tools they use safe and secure while working. When the worker is lifted into a tree, the tree allows them to work beside the tree and move it to part rather than cut it at the base of the tree and let it fall to the ground. Using this method, he eliminates the possibility that the tree falls onto a fence, a building, a highway, or on a person on the ground. Tree Removal Ways Achieve This Task

Sometimes when a crew arrives at a tree removal site, they may feel so large that it towers over a highway or building. This causes problems because the tree limbs can not be dropped to the ground after being cut from the tree without causing any harm or damage to the property. In these circumstances, they should lower the limbs that have been cut to the ground using a rope. The first thing a professional does is tie a string around the leg and then cut it. The limbs are then guided to the ground without contacting the building or causing traffic problems. Depending on the size of the limb, more than one rope may be required. Tree Removal Ways Achieve This Task

Although in the past, trees were cut on the base and fell into areas where there were no obstacles. Currently, when removing trees or grinding stumps there are usually obstacles in the middle of the road so most of the trees are removed from top to bottom. If it is a small-legged tree once the limb has been removed it will be reversed or cut down. For larger trees as soon as they release the limbs, the tree trunks will be cut into pieces and lowered to the ground. When the limbs are lifted, the professional will prune the small branch first. Generally, professional tree removal companies will have chipper in the workplace so they can cut smaller branches into wood chips for mulch. Larger pieces will be loaded onto the truck. The final part of the trunk is cut close to the ground. Homeowners can remove stumps later if they choose.

Top Tips for a Stress-Free Family Skiing Holiday

Top Tips for a Stress-Free Family Skiing Holiday

Whatever your destination, going on a family holiday with young children in tow can be stressful. But don’t worry: with careful planning and research, you can ensure that your family will have an unforgettable holiday for all the right reasons!
Now that the winter season’s upon us again, there’s no better time to hit the slopes with your family. People often shy away from taking young children on skiing holidays, but with so many fantastic and child-friendly resorts to choose from, it is an ideal option for those wanting fun-packed days and cosy nights spent in alpine chalets.

We’ve put together some tips to help you plan the perfect holiday on the pistes.

Timing Is Everything!

Peak season is often the busiest time, attracting skiers of all ages. During Christmas, New Year and school holidays, expect to see lots of skiing families. If you prefer to have the slopes and the resorts to yourself, the first two weeks of January are the best time to go. And if you’re not tied to the school holidays, the off-peak season is even better.

Research, Research and More Research

Did we mention research? The key to the perfect family skiing holiday is to research the best resort to suit your needs. Ideally, you want an accommodation that’s completely child-friendly. What’s more, it shouldn’t be too far away from the slopes, so that you and your family are ready to ski as soon as you wake up.

The importance of choosing a resort with all desired amenities cannot be underestimated. Look out for resorts with shops, a good variety of restaurants and a pharmacy, as children are often accident prone.

Lastly, don’t forget to check out the resort’s entertainment facilities to keep your little ones busy on and off the piste.

Pre-Book Ski Essentials Before Your Holiday

Avoid long queues and pre-book your ski lessons, ski passes and ski hire before you even get on the plane. That way, you’ll be ready to hit the pistes as soon as you land.

It’s All on the List

If it’s on the list, you won’t forget it! Planning a holiday with children can often feel like a military operation, but making a list of the things that you and your children will need can make your holiday go much more smoothly. Here are a few things that you should definitely write down.

1. Don’t forget to pack your ski holiday insurance. This is often the last thing that people think about, but travelling with children is stressful enough, so put your mind at rest and take out a comprehensive ski holiday insurance – it’ll keep your family covered on and off the slopes.

2. Take spare gloves and hats with you, as these often get lost or misplaced.

3. Don’t forget to pack your children’s toiletries and medicine. It’s also a good idea to take plasters and ointment for all potential bumps and bruises.

4. Make sure that you bring games, books, toys and any other gadgets that will keep the little ones entertained on long journeys and during cosy nights in the chalet.

And Lastly…

Enjoy yourselves! Spending some quality time with your children will give you some moments that you’ll remember forever – and you’ll remember them for all the right reasons if you take out some ski holiday insurance before your trip!
